Would all the cereal lovers please stand up? Although, I guess it is fair to say that I should also be asking for all the Lovers of Nostalgic Treats and Creative Desserts to please stand up.
If you are a fan of that sugary milk at the bottom of the bowl or you love desserts that are so texturally perfect you could forget all your problems, then you are in the right place.
1. Frosted Flakes Cookies
Okay, can we talk about Frosted Flakes for a second? They’re basically the sweeter, punchier version of Corn Flakes, and while both are perfectly crispy, Frosted Flakes bring that extra sugary goodness that just makes you happy.
I think they are a total game-changer in this recipe because the cookie dough has mild oats that can sometimes be a little, you know, boring. The cereal just works. Of course, if you only have Corn Flakes, that’s totally fine too. You do you!
2. Lucky Charms Cupcakes
Here we have another awesome cereal milk recipe, and this time it’s getting its flavor from those super sweet, marshmallow-y Lucky Charms.
Now, because those little marshmallows are so colorful, you might find that the color seeps into the milk and makes it look a little grey. I didn’t stress about it, but if you want to brighten it up, you can totally add another color to balance things out.
A little yellow would work great, or you could just lean into it and go for a full-on rainbow effect!
3. Golden Grahams Bars
So this one might seem a lot like the s’more recipe, but trust me, there’s one major difference that takes it to another level. With this recipe, you’re going to melt the chocolate right into the mix.
Instead of just adding chocolate chips at the end, melting them down makes these bars extra indulgent and ridiculously chocolatey. YES. That is where we’re headed.
4. Trix Krispie Treats
Trix is pretty much in the same family as Fruit Loops or Fruity Pebbles, but the pieces are bigger. So while the other two are more firm and crunchy, Trix has this wonderfully light and crispy texture.
I’m a huge fan of how puffy they are, but you could absolutely swap in one of the others. The flavor profile will be more or less the same.
5. 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars
I’m just going to say it: I am a massive fan of peanut butter chips. I find myself swapping them in for chocolate chips all the time.
For recipes where you need that nutty flavor to really shine through and also need everything to set up perfectly, peanut butter chips are THE WAY TO GO.
6. No-Bake Chocolate Raisin Bran Squares
Just like oatmeal raisin cookies, I feel like Raisin Bran sometimes gets a bad rap. I get it; you’ve got the “healthy” fruit and some bran flakes that aren’t exactly exciting.
But you guys, everything is better when you cover it in chocolate! These squares are crunchy, decadent, and I just love those little pops of chewy sweetness from the raisins.
7. Apple Jacks Marshmallow Treats
I honestly never had this apple and cinnamon cereal growing up, but it completely gives these marshmallow treats a fresh new vibe. Not only are they super colorful, but the fall flavors are just so good.
That being said, these would also be a terrific treat for St. Paddy’s Day!
8. Special K Bars
At a glance, Special K might look like Corn Flakes, but it’s actually made with puffed rice. That little difference is what gives these bars a unique kind of crunch.
The filling is made with melted peanut butter, and then the whole thing is topped with a beautiful butterscotch and chocolate blend. YUM.
9. Fruity Pebbles Cheesecake
Cheesecake is one of those sweet, creamy desserts that can take on pretty much any flavor you throw at it. So, if you’re tired of the same old graham cracker crust, why not give this super fun Fruity Pebbles recipe a try?
One thing’s for sure, it’ll be a total showstopper on any dessert table and have everyone talking! Plus, you could easily turn this into cheesecake squares to make serving a breeze.
10. Caramel Corn Pops Treats
Most corn-based cereals are flaky and crispy, while rice cereals are usually light and airy. Corn Pops are like the best of both worlds: a corn cereal that’s been puffed up into a light, crisp little bite.
For this one, you’ll bind everything together with caramels instead of marshmallows, which makes them incredibly sticky and gives them an intense flavor.
I think these would be next-level with some mini-chocolate chips or even peanut butter chips mixed in.
11. Cereal and Milk Cupcakes with Cereal Milk Buttercream
If you’ve never tried baking with cereal milk, you are in for such a treat. It’s a truly unique way to add that nostalgic flavor to your desserts.
Getting that signature taste is so easy; all you do is let the cereal soak in milk or cream for at least half an hour. Once you strain it, you’re left with all that amazing flavor and none of the mushy bits. Magic.
12. Honey Bunches of Oats Cookies
Honey Bunches of Oats comes in a few different varieties, and it’s loaded with oats, nuts, and that dreamy honey flavor. That cereal has such a terrific texture, and it really makes these cookies stand out.
And like I said, there are so many flavors to play with. You could make these with almonds, maple, cinnamon, or even strawberry!
13. S’more Cereal Treats
Have you ever tried Golden Grahams? It’s a sweet cereal with a ton of honey flavor, and it’s got a great crunch, too. This recipe is basically a s’more spin on the classic Rice Krispie treat.
You’ll use melted butter and marshmallows to hold it all together, and definitely don’t skip the chocolate chips!
14. Chex Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
Chex cereal is just so versatile. It’s not just a yummy breakfast; it can be turned into puppy chow or these amazing peanut butter bars. What’s even better is that you have a few flavors to choose from.
So if honey isn’t your thing, you could try the cinnamon or maybe even the dark chocolate version!
15. Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cookies
If you’re like me, you absolutely love adding fun things into your cookies. For this cinnamon crunch recipe, you could really use any cookie dough you like and just mix in the crushed cereal.
But I think having that extra cinnamon in the dough itself makes these feel extra special.
16. No-Bake Chocolate Crunch Bars
No-bake desserts are an absolute lifesaver on hot summer days, or really anytime you want something sweet without a long wait.
These crunch bars are super chocolatey and packed with crispy Corn Flakes. That little bit of peanut butter in there helps them stay fudgy, but I bet Nutella would be an amazing swap, too.
17. Rainbow Fruit Loop Treats
If you loved the idea of those crunchy Cheerio bars but just wished they were a bit more colorful, then you are in luck! These Fruit Loop treats look like they jumped straight out of a cartoon.
With the colorful cereal, fun multi-colored marshmallows, and a shower of sprinkles, these are what a unicorn’s dreams are made of.
