Favorite copycats. I say that all the time, and in theory it’s a total oxymoron, but lately these recipes are my favorite way to get all the food I want to eat.
I mean, flavor, comfort, and nostalgia, give me everything all on one plate. I know, I’m a food hog, and these recipes are my vice. From breakfast to dinner, get ready to bring the taste of Cracker Barrel into your own kitchen today.
1. Cracker Barrel Campfire S’more
Okay, hold on just a second. We’ve got a sinful fudge brownie that’s baked onto a graham cracker crust, then finished with toasted marshmallow AND a chocolate topping. It’s a whole mood, a vibe, a lifestyle!
To get that perfect broiled top, you’ll need to let the brownie cool completely before adding the marshmallow. Then you can slice it up right away.
But if you’re like me and want it served all warm and gooey, just add the marshmallow topping during the last five minutes of baking. YUM.
2. Cracker Barrel Mushroom Pot Roast
Adding mushrooms just takes a regular pot roast to a whole new level. They bring such a fantastic earthy flavor to the whole dish.
You absolutely have to sear your meat first to get that amazing crust. Then just get ready to let it cook for a few hours. Low and slow is the name of the game here.
You’ll be rewarded with something truly special.
3. Copycat Cracker Barrel Sausage Gravy And Biscuits
If you thought bacon grease gravy was amazing, just wait. The chunks of sausage in this version are just so, so good! It’s made just like the white gravy, where you cook the meat first and then stir it back in at the end.
And biscuits? They’ve never been easier with all the awesome mixes you can find. But if you’re feeling adventurous, making your own is a great way to experiment. I’m a huge fan of cheddar and jalapeno in mine!
4. Cracker Barrel Ham and Egg Casserole
This breakfast casserole is just terrific. It has a sourdough base and a simple, cheesy egg filling that is so satisfying and warm. It would be amazing next to those hash browns we talked about.
You can totally use bacon or sausage instead of ham if that’s your jam. And don’t be shy about tossing in some onions or other veggies you have on hand!
5. Kale and Brussels Sprouts Salad (Cracker Barrel)
Who knew Cracker Barrel could do light and fresh so well? Whether you need a bright side dish or want to save some room for dessert, this salad is a total winner. It is so unbelievably easy to make.
The hardest part is just washing and chopping the kale and Brussels sprouts. For the dressing, you literally just whisk everything together and toss it with the greens. Done deal.
6. Cracker Barrel Baby Limas
Let’s be real, lima beans can sometimes be a tough sell. But when they’re cooked up with bacon, garlic, onion powder, red pepper flakes, and chicken bouillon? Oh my goodness.
They become buttery and so flavorful, you’ll definitely be reaching for a second scoop. I’m telling you, it’s a game-changer.
7. Copycat Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole Recipe
Potatoes are always a good idea in my book. I love them boiled, fried, mashed—you name it! But there’s just something about crispy hash browns that gives me that all-warm-inside feeling.
For this recipe, you’ll add in some cream of chicken soup, which gives it an extra kick of amazing flavor. It’s the perfect side for your morning eggs or even with some juicy pork for dinner.
8. Broccoli Cheddar Chicken (Cracker Barrel Copycat)
I’m a huge fan of the broccoli and cheddar combo, just like pretty much everyone else on the planet. So adding chicken to make it a full meal? Genius.
If you’re not into cheddar soup, you could try cream of chicken or even mushroom instead. And for the topping, I totally recommend adding some crushed Ritz crackers for a perfect toasty crunch.
9. Cracker Barrel Cherry Chocolate Cobbler
Chocolate and cherry are a match made in heaven. And when you’re talking about a cobbler, there are no rules saying you can’t add a little extra decadence.
This dessert is so ridiculously easy. Using a pre-made cherry pie filling saves so much time. For the topping, it’s as simple as adding some melted chocolate. SO GOOD.
10. Homemade Chicken Potpie
I seriously need to make chicken pot pie more often. Every time I do, it’s so tasty that I promise myself I’ll make it again soon. And honestly, it’s so simple, I really could make it every week.
Using store-bought pie dough and frozen veggies cuts down the prep time like crazy. If you’ve got some leftover rotisserie chicken, you can have this on the table in just 30 minutes.
11. Cracker Barrel Corn Bread Dressing
This isn’t a salad dressing; it’s a side dish that’s a lot like stuffing. It even has those familiar flavors of sage and onion. The big difference here is the cornbread mixed in.
Besides that, it cooks up just like any other stuffing recipe and makes an absolutely excellent side for some roasted chicken.
12. Cracker Barrel Chocolate Pecan Pie
Pecan pie is already pretty perfect. It’s sweet, crunchy, sticky, and super easy to make. That said, is there anything that isn’t made better with a little chocolate? I think not.
This recipe gives you a fantastic pecan pie, but if you already have one you adore, just stick with it. All you have to do is toss in some semi-sweet chocolate chips! Simple.
13. Cracker Barrel Cucumbers Tomatoes and Onions
Here’s another great, light side dish that’s so easy to whip up at home. If you have the time, try to make this ahead so the flavors can really get to know each other. An hour should be perfect.
I like to use cherry tomatoes for a little extra sweetness, and red onions for a great peppery crunch.
14. Cracker Barrel Sunday Homestyle Chicken
I’m not sure why this chicken is only on the menu on Sundays. It’s such a shame because I would eat this every single day! Make sure your chicken pieces are a uniform size so they cook evenly.
If you can, let them sit in buttermilk for an hour. The key to the best coating is double-dipping in the buttermilk and flour.
And don’t overcrowd the pan; cook in batches to give the chicken space to get perfect.
15. Copycat Cracker Barrel Country Green Beans
I once went to Cracker Barrel with a vegetarian friend who couldn’t believe they put bacon in a vegetable side. The waiter told her, “Because piggy makes everything better.”
And you know what? He was so right. I have made these green beans so many times, and there is never a single bite left!
16. Cracker Barrel Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes are one of those sides that just goes with everything. Russet potatoes are your best bet here.
The whole process is as simple as seasoning them to your liking and mixing in some butter. It doesn’t get much easier than that, and the results are always a crowd-pleaser.
17. Cracker Barrel’s White Gravy
If you didn’t grow up in the south, you might have missed out on the magic of white gravy. I used to think it was this super complicated thing I could never master.
But if you can make a white sauce, you can totally make this gravy. You start by making some bacon and using the same pan to keep all that amazing flavor.
When you add the flour, keep stirring until it starts to brown, then slowly pour in the milk. Keep it moving to avoid any lumps!
18. Cracker Barrel Strawberry Shortcake
If you have the time to make everything from scratch for this, go for it! It’ll be a delicious dessert, no question. But if you’re looking for something fast and sweet, you only need a few things from the store.
For some extra sweetness, chop up your strawberries and toss them in a bit of sugar. After about 10 minutes, all those amazing juices will start to come out. Delicious.
